Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How often should my generator be serviced?

A: The frequency of service for your generator will depend on the type of loads your generator is backing up. This can vary depending on whether the generator is located at a critical care or infrastructure facility, a private business, or a residence. Our local service team can provide recommendations for a generator maintenance plan that fits your specific needs.

Q: Does Clifford Power service gasoline, portable, RV, or marine generators?

A: No. Clifford Power provides generator service for permanently installed standby generators and trailer-mounted generators.

Q: What types of generators does Clifford Power service?

A: Clifford Power generator technicians are certified through EGSA, the only nationally recognized power generation certification. Through this accreditation, our local technicians are equipped to maintain all makes and models of standby generators.

Q: What forms of payment do you accept?

A: Clifford Power accepts most traditional forms of payment including credit cards. Our generator service customers also have the option to establish a line of credit.

Q: Why is routine maintenance so important for a standby generator?

A: Proactive maintenance is the key to reliability for your generator system. Unlike other mechanical equipment such as a personal vehicle, generators are often neglected for long periods of time. Typically, when a generator fails to start, the issue is related to insufficient maintenance. A routine service plan keeps your generator in optimal condition to help ensure you're never without power. Additionally, these routine inspections identify minor issues before they become major problems. This gives you better control over service costs and it reduces your risk of downtime.
