Bio – Brandon Lewis, from EGSA Powerline Q4 2020 issue
Brandon Lewis is the Director of Technical Support and Training at Clifford Power Systems, where he celebrated 20 years of employment this year. Clifford Power is one of the largest family owned service companies in the U.S., with a sole focus on the power generation industry and ten branch locations across five states. Brandon leads the technical support and training department with three other members responsible for supporting any technical needs of all the departments in the company, as well as training 70+ generator service technicians.
After going to vocational school for electronics, and attending college for electronics engineering technology, he started with Clifford in June of 2000 as a shop technician. In this role, he was responsible to prepare generators and transfer switches for the telecom industry to support the fiber network which was being built at the time. He then worked as a field technician until 2007, when he was promoted to a technical support technician which allowed him to focus more on mentoring and growing the knowledge of the newer technicians, while still tackling the most complicated field jobs himself. Working in this capacity has allowed him to hone his troubleshooting skills, and his ability to communicate those skills to other technicians to allow them be more efficient, advance their skills, and grow their careers within power generation. The aspect that Brandon likes most about his job is solving problems, and being able to help other people overcome challenges they may be facing.
